Prices and availability in this article are as of September 5, 2026. Current stock and prices

NVIDIA's MSRP for the RTX 5090 is still $1,999. In September 2026 the cheapest RTX 5090 that has actually restocked at Best Buy in the last 30 days is $4,099.99, and the card that restocks most often sells for $4,829.99. Everything below comes from StockMaid's own tracking: every Best Buy, Micro Center and Newegg listing is checked around the clock, and every price change and restock is recorded. Updated monthly; this revision reflects data through September 5, 2026.

RTX 5090 price today (September 5, 2026)

A listing price only matters if the card ever comes back in stock. So the numbers below are the prices at which RTX 5090s were actually restocked in the last 30 days, not the cheapest number on a product page.

  • Best Buy - restocks in the last 30 days ranged from $4,099.99 (ASUS TUF Gaming) to $4,829.99 (ASUS ROG Astral), with one $5,999.99 outlier. 129 restock events across 12 models.
  • Micro Center - the cards in store today run $4,499.99-$4,929.99, typically $100-$400 above the same card at Best Buy. The $2,669.99 MSI Vanguard listing has not been in stock at any point in our tracking.
  • Newegg - the two first-party listings we can verify are $4,529.99 (Gigabyte Windforce OC) and $4,999.99 (MSI Suprim Liquid), both out of stock as of this update. Newegg's ten restocks since August all landed at $4,699.99 or higher.

The realistic price of an RTX 5090 in September 2026 is $4,100-$4,830, a little over 2x MSRP. Cheaper listings exist, but see the next section: none of them has restocked in 90 days.

Every RTX 5090 at Best Buy: listed price vs what actually restocks

Best Buy lists 20 RTX 5090 SKUs. Only about half of them ever come back in stock. These are the ones that restocked in the last 30 days, with the price they restocked at and how many times StockMaid saw them return:

  • ASUS ROG Astral - $4,829.99 - 29 restocks (last: Sep 4)
  • MSI Gaming Trio OC - $4,399.99 - 28 restocks (last: Sep 1; 172 in the last 90 days, the most of any 5090)
  • ASUS TUF Gaming OC - $4,399.99 - 20 restocks (last: Sep 4)
  • MSI Suprim Liquid SOC - $4,599.99 - 16 restocks (last: Aug 31)
  • MSI Ventus 3X OC - $4,299.99 - 13 restocks (last: Aug 26)
  • ASUS TUF Gaming - $4,099.99 - 8 restocks (last: Sep 1) - the cheapest 5090 you could actually buy
  • Gigabyte Gaming OC - $4,399.99 - 3 restocks (last: Sep 4)
  • MSI Suprim SOC - $4,499.99 - 3 restocks (last: Aug 21)
  • ASUS ROG Astral (premium edition) - $5,999.99 - 3 restocks (last: Aug 30)

And these are listed at lower prices but have zero Best Buy restocks in the last 90 days. Treat them as placeholders, not deals:

  • NVIDIA Founders Edition - $1,999.99 (delisted; the page returns 404)
  • PNY OC - $1,999.99
  • MSI Vanguard SOC - $2,599.99 and Vanguard Launch Edition - $2,729.99
  • Gigabyte Windforce - $2,899.99
  • Gigabyte AORUS Xtreme Waterforce WB - $3,089.99 and Waterforce - $3,149.99
  • Gigabyte Windforce OC - $4,299.99 and PNY ARGB OC - $4,299.99
  • Gigabyte AORUS Master - $4,499.99 (one restock in 90 days)

If you see a $2,000-$3,100 RTX 5090 listing, it is almost certainly one of the cards above. Track it anyway: if one of them ever restocks, that alert is worth more than any other on this list.

RTX 5090 price history, March to September 2026

StockMaid records every price change on every tracked listing. This is the lowest price any RTX 5090 was set to at Best Buy in each month, followed by Micro Center once we started tracking it in July:

  • March 2026 - $2,699.99 (Gigabyte AORUS Master) - 20 price changes recorded
  • April 2026 - $3,599.99 - prices moved up on 5 listings
  • May 2026 - $4,199.99 - the first month with no listing under $4,000
  • June 2026 - $3,539.99 - a brief dip; 17 price changes, most of them back up
  • July 2026 - $4,099.99 at Best Buy, $3,799.99 at Micro Center
  • August 2026 - $4,299.99 at Best Buy, $3,999.99 at Micro Center, $4,929.99 at Newegg
  • September 2026 (to the 5th) - no Best Buy price changes yet; Micro Center's lowest new price is $4,299.99

The all-time lows we have on record at Best Buy, all from March or June, show how far the floor has moved: Gigabyte AORUS Master $2,699.99, ASUS TUF Gaming $2,909.99, Gigabyte Windforce OC $2,999.99, MSI Gaming Trio OC $3,299.99, Gigabyte Gaming OC $3,299.99, ASUS ROG Astral $3,509.99. Every one of those cards now restocks $1,000-$1,800 higher.

From the March low of $2,699.99 to the September floor of $4,099.99 is a 52% increase in six months on the cheapest card that actually sells. The cards that restock most often (ROG Astral, Gaming Trio) have risen 33-38% over the same period.

How often does the RTX 5090 restock?

StockMaid has logged every RTX 5090 restock across all three retailers since July 20, 2026: 204 in the last eleven days of July, 129 in August, and 23 in the first five days of September. That is roughly four a day, but concentrated in a handful of models.

  • In the last 30 days, 94 restocks were online and 35 were in-store pickup.
  • Three models (ROG Astral, Gaming Trio OC, TUF Gaming OC) account for 77 of the 129 Best Buy restocks.
  • Micro Center restocks are in-store only and rare: two in the last 30 days.
  • Newegg's first-party restocks happen in short bursts, ten since August, and sell out within the 15-minute check window.

The practical takeaway: an RTX 5090 at $4,400 is available most days if you are watching. One under $4,000 has not appeared at Best Buy since June.

How to track prices and catch drops

StockMaid tracks every RTX 5090 listing at Best Buy, Micro Center and Newegg, records every price change and restock, and posts free alerts to Discord the moment a card comes back. Here's what the tracking looks like:

Browse all tracked RTX 5090 models and their current prices in one place

Track specific models and get alerts via Discord or email when anything changes: price drops, restocks, or new availability. Every product page now shows its own price and restock history.

Discord alerts fire within minutes of stock changes

Set a ceiling before the alert arrives. The TUF Gaming at $4,099.99 restocks about twice a week; if that is your number, set up tracking and act when it fires. Waiting for a return to $2,700 has not paid off since March.

Should you consider the RTX 5080 instead?

The RTX 5080 is not at its $999 MSRP either: the models that restocked in the last 30 days sold for $1,600-$1,800 at Best Buy (PNY OC $1,699.99 with 31 restocks, MSI Ventus 3X $1,649.99 with 23). That is still less than half the price of any 5090 that actually restocks, and several 5080s are in stock online and in store as of this update.

If your primary use case is gaming rather than AI workloads, the math favours the 5080 even more than it did in March: the 5090's price has risen faster. Check RTX 5080 availability here.
