Prices and availability in this article are as of March 15, 2026. Current stock and prices

A few weeks ago, someone in our Discord posted a screenshot of a Destined Rivals Booster Box selling for over $500 on TCGPlayer. The retail price at Best Buy is $160.99. That's a 229% markup — and it's not even the worst one. The Prismatic Evolutions ETB is running 285% above retail. That's the kind of spread that got us paying attention.

Pokémon cards sell out just like GPUs

If you've been tracking GPUs with StockMaid, the Pokémon TCG market is going to feel weirdly familiar. High-demand sets drop at Best Buy. They sell out in minutes. Resale prices balloon to double or triple MSRP on TCGPlayer and eBay within hours. And if you weren't refreshing at the exact right moment, you missed it.

The numbers right now are hard to believe if you're new to the TCG side. The Destined Rivals Booster Box retails for $160.99 and resells for over $500 on TCGPlayer — a 229% premium. The Prismatic Evolutions ETB is $49.99 at retail, around $192 resale — a 285% markup. Even the Booster Bundle at $26.94 sells for $78 on the secondary market. Every sealed Prismatic Evolutions product we've checked trades well above retail.

And it's not just one set doing this. Destined Rivals and Prismatic Evolutions are both commanding massive premiums. The Destined Rivals ETB jumped from $49.99 to $185 — a 270% markup. Same script as a 5090 restock: listed, sold out, aftermarket premiums within the hour.

The resale numbers across every set

We compared Best Buy MSRP against current resale prices on TCGPlayer and PriceCharting for every product we track. The markups on TCG products are outpacing GPUs across the board. For context, the RTX 5090 FE — the hottest GPU on the market — sits at around 76% above MSRP. Most of the Pokémon products we track are double that or higher.

Prismatic Evolutions has the highest percentage markups. The ETB at 285% is the single highest-margin product we track, GPU or card. Even the Binder Collection at $29.99 retail trades for $76 — a 155% premium on a product most people would walk past in the aisle.

Destined Rivals is the other hot set right now. That booster box at $500+ resale on a $160.99 MSRP is a 229% spread. The ETB is running 270% above retail. These are sealed products that people are buying at Best Buy for retail and immediately listing for 2–3x the price.

The Mega Evolution sets — Ascended Heroes and Phantasmal Flames — are newer and still building secondary market demand. The Ascended Heroes Premium Poster Collection is already at 200% markup. Phantasmal Flames Booster Box is running about 93% above retail. These numbers tend to climb as supply dries up, so they're worth watching.

Same infrastructure, new category

We built StockMaid to solve a pretty specific problem: Best Buy has inventory, it appears and disappears fast, and you need to know the second something changes. That problem isn't unique to GPUs. It's the exact same dynamic playing out with Pokémon TCG products right now.

So we expanded. StockMaid now tracks 19 Pokémon TCG products at Best Buy alongside GPUs. Same availability checks, same Discord and email alerts, same Chrome extension support. When a Destined Rivals Booster Box goes from sold out to Add to Cart, you'll know about it the same way you'd know about a 5090 FE restock.

TCG alerts fire through the same Discord and email channels as GPU restocks

We pick products by comparing Best Buy's retail price against current resale value on TCGPlayer and PriceCharting. The bigger the gap between MSRP and secondary market price, the more demand there is and the faster it sells out. Those are the drops worth alerting on.

What we're tracking right now

We're monitoring products across four sets: Prismatic Evolutions, Destined Rivals, Mega Evolution (Ascended Heroes), and Mega Evolution (Phantasmal Flames). Everything from the $14.99 Tech Sticker Collections up to the $160.99 Booster Boxes. The full list is on the products page under the TCG filter.

The highest-demand items right now are the Destined Rivals Booster Box, the Prismatic Evolutions ETB, and the Destined Rivals ETB. Those three have the widest MSRP-to-resale spreads and sell out the fastest during restocks. If you're only going to track a few products, start there.

We're adding more TCG products based on demand. If there's a specific set or product you want tracked, drop it in the Discord and we'll look at the numbers.

Each product has its own SKU page with availability history, current stock status, and alert options — the same interface you're used to from the GPU side.

Why Best Buy specifically

Best Buy is one of the few major retailers that sells high-demand Pokémon TCG products at MSRP. They don't gouge. The problem is they also sell out instantly. Target and Walmart have similar dynamics but their online stock systems work differently. Pokémon Center has its own bot problem. We already had Best Buy infrastructure dialed in from GPU tracking, so it made sense to start there.

One thing we fixed specifically for TCG products: Best Buy sometimes marks things as "In Store Only" when they're not actually available at any store near you. Our system catches that and won't send you a false alert. If it says in stock, there's actually something to buy.

How to set up Pokémon TCG alerts on StockMaid

Head to the products page and toggle the TCG category filter. You'll see every Pokémon product we're monitoring with current availability status. Click into any SKU page to see its stock history and turn on alerts.

Pick your notification channels — Discord for speed, email if you want a backup, or both. Premium members can also use the Checkout Assistant Chrome extension to have cards added to their Best Buy cart automatically when stock appears. The extension works for TCG products the same way it does for GPUs.

Restocks at Best Buy tend to be small and unannounced. The window between "in stock" and "sold out" is often under five minutes. Alerts aren't optional here — they're the only realistic way to catch these drops at MSRP.
