PS5 Pro Restock Tracker (September 2026): Sold Out Everywhere Before GTA 6, What It Costs, and How to Get One
Sony's PlayStation 5 Pro is sold out at every major US retailer. StockMaid checks Best Buy, Micro Center and Newegg around the clock, and as of September 6, 2026 none of the three has a new unit to sell: Best Buy is down to open-box, Micro Center has no stock in any store, and Newegg has deactivated its own listing. PlayStation Direct is sold out too, and resellers are asking $1,300 and up for a console that lists at $899.99. Here is what our tracking shows, and how to get one at retail price when stock returns.
Where the PS5 Pro stands (September 6, 2026)
- Best Buy - $899.99. Sold out as new. The product page has switched to "Shop Open-Box", which is Best Buy's used inventory, not a restock.
- Micro Center - $899.99. No stock at any store, and the listing cannot ship.
- Newegg - $950.00. Newegg's own listing, currently deactivated. When Newegg turns it back on it will be $50 above the other two.
- PlayStation Direct - sold out, per CharlieIntel's report on August 30, which has been viewed 1.8 million times.
Nothing under $1,300 is available on the resale market right now, according to the same report. That is 45% over retail for a console that will be restocked. Do not pay it; see the last section.
What the PS5 Pro actually costs
The PS5 Pro launched in November 2024 at $699.99. Best Buy and Micro Center now list it at $899.99, and Newegg at $950.00. Those are the only prices you should pay: every retail restock in our tracking of other high-demand hardware has come back at list price, not above it.
StockMaid records every price change on every listing we track. The PS5 Pro has been tracked since September 6, 2026, so its price history starts here; its product page shows the live price at all three retailers and will show every change from now on.
Why it is sold out now
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 2026, and the PS5 Pro is the console most buyers want to play it on. Demand pulled forward through August, and by the end of the month the last retailer inventory was gone. Sony has not announced a restock date.
This is the same pattern we watched with the RTX 5090 in 2025 and 2026: a launch window, a demand spike, and restocks that arrive in small waves and sell out within minutes. The difference is that the PS5 Pro has a fixed retail price, so there is no reason to buy above it.
What Best Buy's open-box listing means
When Best Buy's page shows "Shop Open-Box" instead of "Add to Cart", the new console is gone and only returned units are left, at a discount off $899.99 with a shorter return window. Best Buy's own product data confirms the new SKU is inactive right now.
StockMaid counts a product as in stock only when the new unit can be added to the cart. Open-box never triggers an alert, so a PS5 Pro alert from us means a real restock at $899.99.
How to get a PS5 Pro at retail price
- Track it. StockMaid checks the PS5 Pro at all three retailers continuously and posts a free alert to the #ps5-pro channel on our Discord the moment new stock appears online or for in-store pickup.
- Watch both channels. Best Buy restocks show up online and as store pickup, often in different waves. In-store pickup alerts include which states have stock.
- Be ready to act. Restocks of hardware this constrained typically last minutes. Premium members get email alerts and the Chrome extension's automatic add to cart at Best Buy.
- Do not pay resale. $1,300 is a 45% premium on something that will be back at $899.99. The only reason to consider it is if you need the console before a specific date and cannot wait for a wave.

Set up tracking now. The first restock wave after a sell-out is the one that gives you the best odds. Track the PS5 Pro and join the Discord for free alerts.
